Schools of Waller County
Pine Island School 1919
The new ?two-room? schoolhouse built in 1919 next to the Pine Island Baptist Church. The building was really one large room divided by accordion doors, which were opened for school plays or community events. Classes were for grades one through eight. The high school students attended Hempstead. This was the last school in the Pine Island District as they consolidated into Waller in 1928.
